The US, UK, and Belgium express readiness to strengthen ties with the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC) and congratulate President Felix Tshikekedi on his re-election. They call for improved electoral transparency.

The US, UK, and Belgium say they are ready to strengthen ties with the DRC , and congratulated its president on his re-election.The vote he won was somewhat chaotic, and the Western powers called for more electoral transparency . The United States, United Kingdom, and former colonial master Belgium congratulated the president of the Democratic Republic of the Congo ( DRC ), Felix Tshikekedi, for securing a second term – while urging his country to work on improving electoral transparency .

In August last year, the US began the construction of a new embassy in Kinshasa, which it said would be worth R3.2 billion. The embassy, according to the US, is a symbol of both countries' shared commitment to advancing democratic values, sustainable economic growth, and global cooperation. With the elections settled,"the US looks forward to expanding its partnership with the DRC government and working with Congolese people across the nation to advance our mutual interests," Matthew Miller, the US State Department spokesperson, said in a statemen
