James Weeks, 55, of Sodus, allegedly assaulted a Metropolitan Police Department officer and later incited a group of rioters to break into the Capitol through a window. He was arrested Thursday by the FBI in Albany, more than three years after the riot, and appeared in federal court that day. Weeks faces felony charges for civil disorder and assaulting, resisting or impeding certain officers. He also faces misdemeanor charges including destruction of government property and aiding and abetting, entering and remaining in a restricted building or grounds, disorderly and disruptive conduct in a restricted building or grounds, engaging in physical violence in a restricted building or grounds, and impeding passage through the Capitol grounds or buildings.
