Pistang Pinoy 2023, idinaos sa Roturua, New Zealand

Ito ang itinuturing na pinakamalaking pagtitipon ng mga Pilipino sa New Zealand.

“Pistang Pilipino is a reunion of the Filipinos here in New Zealand,” sabi ni BOPPFSI President Ronald Espellarga. “This will show our young kids as well na dito na lumaki sa New Zeland and they will see and follow the culture ng mga Filipino,” ani BOPPFSI Vice President Elmer Ersando. “It’s a good way to bond and reconnect with roots and basically the food,” kwento ni Ana Lu. Naaliw din ang lahat sa iba-ibang palaro gaya ng basketball, volleyball, badminton, at tennis. May mga pumila rin para sa libreng gupit. Highlight ng pista ang cultural show kung saan nagtanghal ng Pinoy folk dances ang mga bata.

“We keep our culture by saying this is our culture, this is how we do our community,” pahayag ni BOPPFSI Founder Cherry Andrews. “This is now our meeting place for Filipinos,” pahayag ni Dr. Antonio Noblejas, founder ng Federation of Filipino Associations, Societies, and Clubs in New Zealand.
