PBBM bares vote-buying attempts in Ilocos Norte

DUTY DONE. President Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio show their fingers dabbed with indelible ink to show they have voted in Monday’s barangay elections. PIO, VPSD PhotosPresident Marcos and Vice President Sara Duterte-Carpio led the nation in casting their vote in their respective polling places during yesterday’s Barangay and Sangguniang Kabataan Elections .

“Barangay officials are the first line of service and help to our fellow citizens. If you just sell your vote, you will lose your voice and you will not be able to choose who should really lead in your barangay,” the President added.“Unfortunately, last night there were some reports, even here in Ilocos Norte, that there were some people buying votes for the barangay election,” he said.

Senator Jinggoy Estrada, for his part, lamented receiving several complaints of vote-buying and flying voters.The BSKE has been postponed three times since 2018.
