Aboriginal Victorians could receive an exemption from state taxes as a result of the government’s treaty process, with Premier Jacinta Allan confirming it would be “on the table”.

Premier Jacinta Allan has confirmed Aboriginal Victoria ns could receive an exemption from state taxes as a result of the treaty process.

When asked about the land tax exemption proposal on Tuesday, Premier Allan said she had not seen the comments from Ms Gallagher, but she was sure it would be “on the table” when Treaty negotiations get underway later this year. “We are going through a treaty process and out of respect to the negotiations that… I'm not going to engage in a separate negotiation through the media with treaty representatives.
