Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT As the focus of the Jujutsu Kaisen story remains squarely on the battle in Shibuya to defeat Sukuna, the surprise appearance of Miguel reveals that there's more happening in the world of curses and curse users outside the series' emphasis on the domestic Jujutsu sorcerer community.

Related "Toe-to-Toe with Gojo": Jujutsu Kaisen's Final Battle Is Officially Running Out Of Steam Jujutsu Kaisen's most exciting battle is quickly losing momentum as the series brings back an unexpected minor character to fight Sukuna.

Most Jujustu Kaisen fans were also unprepared for Miguel's sudden appearance. While he's not a new character, he hasn't had much of an on screen role since the prequel story Jujutsu Kaisen O. He is famous for being one of the handful of sorcerers who could give Gojo a tough fight. He's also the sorcerer who helped train Yuta Okkotsu before his return to Japan during the Shibuya Incident.

Just as impressive is Miguel's ability to withstand damage. In the prequel story, while Geto - who Miguel was working for - did not seem to think that he'd actually be able to defeat Gojo, he did believe he'd be able to hold him off long enough for Geto to defeat Yuta. Geto wasn't wrong.

According to Akutami, the production of cursed energy in Japan is "off the charts". Indeed, as Kenjaku suggests in Jujutsu Kaisen chapter #200, the reserve of cursed energy in Japan is so significant it could, if tapped correctly, solve the world's energy problem.
