Millions of Trees Were Removed in 2021, Hurting Climate Goals

The world’s forests are falling under saw blades and flames, releasing massive amounts of carbon dioxide as countries struggle to meet their climate commitments.

Forested area in europe has been growing for decades. People need to be wealthy enough to care about the environment. Give the developing world cheap, base load fossil and nuclear power as quickly as possible. Paradoxically, that is how you drive down emissions long term.

Once again if we don't slow down our waste of raw materials, mother earth will protect the whole. We think as if only our species matters. Consequences will be dramatic.

So is the massive burning of fossil fuels in all developed/industrialized countries. Stop shifting blame. You should know more than anyone the difference between carbon-neutral and net zero. Oh the hypocrisy. WTF? When did Scientific American sell out and get into blame shifting?
