The driving while intoxicated charge against Karla Duran, the Northside Independent School District trustee, has been dismissed at the request of a special prosecutor allowed more leniency than the local DA’s office uses. County Court at Law No. 4 Judge Alfredo Ximenez dismissed the case on Feb. 2 in response to a motion by Michael Block, an assistant county attorney in Atascosa County, who the judge appointed to handle it on Oct. 16.
