The NFL prospect hasn't featured for Monaghan in 2024, but could play in Sunday's Ulster preliminary round tie against Cavan in Clones

Rory Beggan has been included in the Monaghan squad for Sunday’s Ulster SFC preliminary round clash with Cavan in Clones.

While Down’s Smyth signed for the New Orleans Saints last week, there isn’t an offer on the table yet for Beggan or Jackson and the Wicklow goalkeeper is also expected to feature for Oisin McConvill’e side against Westmeath this weekend.Vinny Corey has named Beggan as number 16 on the squad with Darren McDonnell listed to start, but it will be interesting to see if there is a change before throw-in.

Cavan have also named their starting 15, but manager Raymond Galligan is without a host of key players including Killian Clarke and Dara McVeety.
