Modern slavery cases 'rise by over a third'

Potential victims of trafficking are reported to the National Referral Mechanism

But the Human Trafficking Foundation told the Victoria Derbyshire Programme the system is failing to provide long-term support for victims.Potential victims are reported to the National Referral Mechanism , which is designed to identify and support victims, while making the prosecution of traffickers easier.

"We've heard from police officers who have referred people into the NRM repeatedly because each time they leave the NRM they're becoming destitute, being re-trafficked, and the police are identifying them again.Meanwhile, the Local Government Association has released figures from the National Crime Agency , showing council referrals of suspected victims have risen from 131 in 2013 to 1,306 in 2018.

BBCPolitics Interesting way of writing 'Zero-hour contract'

There are few things as heart breaking as people trafficking

This is what you get when a country's media only backs right wing governments

In every postcode in the UK!

And that doesn't count enslavement of sub human animals

But being in the EU was meant to stop all of this...

BBCPolitics Go to toffs slave labour so call volentry work program dwp

There are an estimated 25 mio slaves in Asia and Africa.

Forcing people to sell themselves are disgusting.

you can thank tory privateers an TPA for creating the conditions for modern slavery to thrive-bring back humane regulation to drive this sickness out of our country-name and shame the perpetrators-those making profit from this crime against humanity

But white ppl...

And don't forget the travellers, plenty of slaves used there

Another third world import🙄

Mainly cos of people from Muslamic countries where people are treated like objects and such

Means better awareness, hence increased reporting..

Ironic, considering so many charities have aided human trafficking with UN approval.

Businesses urged to tackle modern slaveryFirms must help to improve society if they want to win public contracts, the UK government says. Lol like they award contracts based on how workers are treated. They award contracts based on how much money they'll save. Welcome to 21st Century Britain. Oh, what a subtle way to promote privatisation, unless of course these contracts are normal supply chain contracts that are not user/patient-facing, e.g. painting, gardening etc

Shooter Brenton Tarrant had terrorists' names & far-right slogans on his gunsWARPED Brenton Tarrant scrawled the names of modern terrorists, ancient military commanders and far-right symbols on his guns and magazines of ammunition before going on a rampage in New Zealand. A… Stop bloody advertising them you muppets !!!! Yet right-wing commentators would have you believe he was a white supremacist leftist who largely aligned with racists like Laura Southern, Jared Taylor and Richard Spencer. Funny how they always deflect to the other side when their rhetoric actualizes in real life evil. Cowards. I hated that gun when I played call of duty ...😳
