A 24-hour weather warning is in place from tomorrow morning until Friday as heavy rain is expected to hit Yorkshire during Storm Ciarán.
The Met Office has issued a yellow weather warning for Yorkshire on Thursday and Friday. It comes as Storm Ciarán is expected to hit the UK on Thursday, with 72 areas of the UK already confirmed as those set to be worst hit by the rain as flood warnings are issued. Warnings issued for Yorkshire by the Met Office warn of torrential downpours throughout Thursday and into Friday morning. The yellow weather warning will be in place from 6am on Thursday until 6am on Friday .A spokesperson for the Met Office said: "Periods of heavy rain associated with Storm Ciarán will affect parts of northeast England during Thursday. Rainfall amounts are likely to reach 20-30 mm widely, with 40-60 mm accumulating over high ground.
What to expect The Met Office says the weather will be: "Rather cloudy, with further outbreaks of light rain and drizzle this evening and overnight. The rain easing for a time, before the rain becomes more persistent and heavier towards dawn, as it begins to move slowly northwards. Light winds.
