Leeds is set for a wet and miserable start to Tuesday ahead of a stormy week which has already seen several Met Office warnings issued. Storm Ciarán is expected to hit the UK on Thursday and bring widespread disruption in many areas with forecasters predicting heavy rain and strong winds.

Leeds is set for a wet and miserable start to Tuesday ahead of a stormy week which has already seen several Met Office warnings issued.

The Met Office has warned that, during this period, more flooding is possible only a short time after the devastation wrought on communities by Storm Babet. Those in flood prone areas are told once again to prepare and to keep up to date with alerts and warnings. The Met Office forecast for the region on Tuesday said: "Cloudy with outbreaks of rain, locally heavy, during the morning. The rain gradually easing into the afternoon, but staying cloudy and damp. Rain and strengthening winds spreading northwards overnight. Maximum temperature 10 °C."

Leeds Heavy rain is expected in Leeds on Tuesday morning with spells predicted between 5am and 7am and then between 8am and 9am. The story of the morning will be persistent rain with some precipitation expected from 4am right through to noon.
