A charity would use the building as a base while 104 homes are proposed to surround it

The developer behind plans to transform a Nottingham nuclear bunker has promised to preserve a range of features from the Cold War era. Hamilton Russell Homes, which bought the War Rooms and the land around it in 2022, is planning to transform the 1950s command centre on Chalfont Drive in Beechdale into a creative hub.

"There are also areas with other historical equipment, we're working with a Cold War expert from Nottingham Trent University who's helping with research and heritage," he said. "The planning suggested each regional government would have been on their own. One question was what would everyone else do?"

Alex Garland's Civil War: A Modern War FilmA review of Alex Garland's Civil War, a great and totally modern war film that is discomfiting and balanced between beauty and horror. The movie, set in a near-future America at war with itself, features ravishing moments, an incredible performance from Kirsten Dunst, and a heart-stopping pace. However, it is also excruciating and built around a moral center.
