The aviation firm says it is trying to restore faith in the industry and that it is committed to regaining public trust.

The company has also proposed extra computer-based training for pilots, although it will not be recommending time in a simulator.Boeing continues to build its MAX planes but cannot say when they will return to service.

That decision will be made by regulators across the world who will have to re-certify the aircraft as safe.Politicians have accused it of giving Boeing too much freedom to certify the MAX aircraft before it took to the skies. In a Senate Transportation Committee hearing, senator Richard Blumenthal said to the acting head of the FAA Dan Elwell:"The fact is that the FAA decided to do safety on the cheap which is neither cheap nor safe, and put the fox in charge of the hen house."Senator Ted Cruz said:"The fact of the matter is these crashes and subsequent reports on how the 737 was approved have badly shaken consumer confidence.

"The certification process for planes and the close relationships between industry and regulator threaten to erode trust in the entire system." In a statement the American Airlines pilots' union told Sky News:"We are optimistic with the progress, but cautious."We are looking forward to the return of the MAX, but only when all stakeholders are certain that it is ready."

So quick, still risky

Told the guy in work I can fly a 747.. He but the code In ppt which I don't have a License for and let me use it.. Bet I could actually fly a plane without the correct training

It’s like NianticLabs they fix one bug but then they’ll introduce more bugs with said fix

Some form of testing prior to the production has failed.

‘Boeing says its new fixes make MCAS less powerful and less prone to error’ ,, less prone!! , that’s hardly a vote of confidence is it?

Says Boeing 🤔

Should have developed the 757, a far more refined type of travel in economy class

We thought it was pilot error.

'During a carefully-managed media event, in which Boeing refused to take any on camera or on the record questions...' 😃

TECH FIXES IS THIS AN APP? YOU ARE PLAYING WITH PEOPLES LIVES FOR FAK SAKES!!!

Nope sorry we are not going on them pilots kept in the dark Ffs you could not make this up if you tried

Get Tex Johnson to fly it? LoL

NaijaFlyingDr Okay.

Things that need software updates tend to crash... just saying. How about better designed planes that aren’t rushed out of greed and better trained pilots?

Problem for Boeing and the airlines is who in their right minds will get on one

Boeing 737 Max 8 planes lacked two safety features that cost extraThe optional safety features - an angle of attack indicator and a disagree light - are not mandated by the Federal Aviation Administration and are only installed if the airline pays for it. This is not good, surely the victims families will no doubt be pursuing compensation from the airline In gaming terms, these were the optional but essential DLCs that were not bought to complete the story mission. Didn't realize that this 'extra' practice has spread to airline industry as well! Proved to be a very expensive saving.

Indonesian airline Garuda cancels order for 49 Boeing 737 Max 8 jetsCompany blames loss of passenger trust after Ethiopia Airlines and Lion Air disasters involving the aircraft Yeah those $45,000,000 fire extinguishers are pretty pricey, not to mention the $600,000,000 essential safety software. Reminds of 'Unsafe at Any Speed' from US auto pennywise pound foolishness Forgive me if I’m missing something, but if the planes crash without them, surely they shouldn’t be optional? So Greed behind the Boeing crashes
