What is the impact of skin conditions such as acne, psoriasis and eczema on mental health? We discuss with consultant dermatologist PPratsou & rosacea sufferer EdwardLeighMP

Six the Musical is currently on stage at the Vaudeville Theatre in London. The show follows Henry VIII’s six wives, as they take the microphone for the first time in a ‘Britain’s Got Talent’ style sing-off. Originally written by two Cambridge University students and showcased at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe in 2017, it has since taken London’s West End by storm and has just opened on Broadway.

Boris Johnson is under renewed pressure after Downing Street admitted staff gathered inside No 10 during the first Covid lockdown to mark his birthday in June 2020. A spokesperson said staff had "gathered briefly" to "wish the Prime Minister a happy birthday", adding that he had been there "for less than 10 minutes".

Are the youth of today oversensitive, mollycoddled and intellectually weak? Is cancel culture spiralling out of control? According to journalist and writer Hannah Jewell, author of new book We Need Snowflakes: In defence of the sensitive the angry and the offended, the term ‘snowflakes’ has been used to demonise young people who care passionately about fighting racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia and economic inequality.

As Russian troops mass on the border with Ukraine, and NATO warns of a risk of fresh conflict in Europe, Emma speaks to BBC Ukrainian Service journalist Irena Taranyuk about the pressures and decisions facing women in her country right now. The MP Sir Edward Leigh, who himself suffers from rosacea, has tabled a debate on the link between skin problems and poor mental health to be held at Westminster Hall later today. He joins Emma Barnett to discuss his concerns alongside the consultant dermatologist Dr Penelope Pratsou who also speaks on behalf of the British Skin Foundation.

hcjewell Emmabarnett I have never understood why snowflake is an abusive term. Each snowflake is individual and beautiful and doesn’t have much effect on anything but together they can literally move mountains and even when they melt they form torrents and can destroy everything in their path.

hcjewell Emmabarnett Meh. She got taken apart surgically & professionally by Emmabarnett It was stunning to hear a journalist/broadcaster do such a fantastic job but this person's hypothesis was weak, biased & naive.

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye So excited to see this StoryhouseLive in the summer!

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye This got me thinking. How many king's wives have most people heard of? Maybe the 20th C ones but very few before that, I would guess. Yet just about everyone can list Henry VIII's wives and their fates.

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye I took my 6 year old to see SIX in London last summer (the year of the rule of 6!) we both LOVE it and every time I need a pick up, we dance around the house to No Way. I love I can take my daughter to see such a show and see these talented women on stage.

PPratsou EdwardLeighMP Thank you for raising this. My youngest aged 11 has psoriasis, he was referred for light therapy in March 2020 and is only getting treatment now. We travel to another city for this and are driving 9 hours a week to access this as local hospital wouldn’t accept new patients.

PPratsou EdwardLeighMP skin conditions are a general reflection on digestive system ;effecting emotional & mental condition. 8,000 years culture of Chinese medicine &acupuncture; provides essential scientific knowledge of digestive system; Diet / gentle excercise/meditation

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye Brilliant piece on Six the Musical - but elephant in the room - no mention of the male co-writer, Toby Marlowe. If it was Man's Hour and no mention of Lucy, would you be happy

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye I can’t wait to see sixthemusical YvonneArnaud

sixthemusical MucyLoss thisistsemaye I saw Six in Newcastle recently and it was EPIC - so inspiring and empowering! It should be on the curriculum for KS3. education

Woman's Hour - Six the Musical, Author Hannah Jewell on 'snowflakes', Women in Ukraine - BBC Sounds'What's that smell? Oh, it’s her knickers.' Today emmabarnett asked listeners how they felt about the words said by Met police officers as Dr Koshka Duff was held down and strip searched in 2013. We had a HUGE response. Listen here. Emmabarnett The sad thing is that my first thought about the knickers comment was that it is a playground thing ..which demonstrates how young this behaviour begins! Teach them young and call out the others. Emmabarnett So, a woman refuses to give a name or other details to police for some minor offence, has to be arrested, bound by hands & feet, pinned to the floor by female officers! clothing cut off! subjected to degrading, sexualised insults by male & female officers? Frightening! Emmabarnett Shouldn’t those police officers ALL have been sacked? It is after all an act of indecent verbal violence
