, the first exhibition in London to focus on his work since 2008, takes a different approach. It’s co-curated by Michael Peppiatt, a friend of Bacon’s and what we get isn’t just Bacon’s paintings of animals – though he was obsessed by them and by photographs of them in motion – but the old idea of man as beast.
