KUALA LUMPUR: Police have opened two investigation papers on an inspector suspected of raping two Mongolian women at a hotel over the weekend, Bukit Aman CID director Huzir Mohamed revealed today.
Huzir said the case was being probed under the Penal Code for rape as well as the Anti-Trafficking in Persons and Anti-Smuggling of Migrants Act 2007.It was reported that the Mongolian women were arrested at a roadblock here on Friday night. They were detained by an officer over claims that they did not possess valid travel documents.
Police are probing the accusation that the officer, in his 30s, took the two women to a hotel and raped them.Huzir also said police were probing a claim that one of the victims had lodged a false report, as well as an allegation that the sex had been consensual.
