€14bn budget fails to woo disaffected voters back from Mary Lou McDonald’s party

Leo Varadkar and Micheál Martin are under mounting internal fire this weekend as their two parties have lost public support despite unleashing a big-spending €14 billion budget aimed at winning back floating Sinn Féin voters.

Both Fine Gael and Fianna Fáil have slipped back one point despite the multi-billion-euro splurge. As a result, Fine Gael now stands at 20 per cent while Fianna Fáil are now on 15 per cent.
