Just eight months from forming, South Australian punk band Chelsea Manor found themselves playing before 15,000 screaming people at their first live gig.

But within eight months of forming, Mount Gambier punk band Chelsea Manor found themselves playing before 15,000 screaming people for their first live gig. The three-piece was chosen to open triple j's One Night Stand concert in Lucindale last weekend, alongside some of the hottest acts in Australian music.It has been a whirlwind ride since the South Australian trio were hand-picked by the Unearthed team as the local act to openGuitarist and vocalist Bianca Hendy and Michael Collins were hanging out at the music store where he works when her phone rang.

"It was Tommy Faith from triple j Unearthed. He started listing off all the artists from One Night Stand and he's like 'how did you feel about playing with them?' And we were like 'are you joking?'" Bianca said.
