Phil Gould has labelled the NRL judiciary system 'flawed' as Jared Waerea-Hargreaves appears set to miss a preliminary final for tripping | SMHsport

Phil Gould has labelled the NRL judiciary system "flawed" as Sydney Roosters star Jared Waerea-Hargreaves appears set to miss a preliminary final for tripping.Jared Waerea-Hargreaves has been a regular at the NRL judiciary this season. The New Zealand international will deny sticking his leg out on South Sydney centre James Roberts in the Roosters' thumping qualifying final win last Friday.

Despite his poor disciplinary record, Gould believes the punishment will not fit the crime if Waerea-Hargreaves misses playing the winner of the semi-final between Melbourne and Parramatta.

SMHsport I DO!!! He should have been outed earlier for his thuggish approach to Rugby League.

SMHsport It was a trip & he is a repeat grub offender, he should be sitting out the rest of the season.

SMHsport He shouldn’t have even been playing after what he did the week before. Karma

SMHsport JWH was lucky he wasn’t suspended the week before

SMHsport nobody?

SMHsport Nobody listens to Gould

SMHsport It's not a flaw Gus. The fines are there as a warning or deterrent. He knew another instance would see him suspended, he did it anyway and bow he's suspended. System is working fine.

SMHsport It was a trip!!!! Tripping has always been viewed as one of the lowest acts on the football field. Gould is one of the dinosaurs commentating on the game that are convincing more and more parents to move their kids from Rugby League to AFL

SMHsport Perhaps Phil should read this fantastic article..

SMHsport As I recall it, Ponga made more of an attempt with his arm than JWH did, and he coped a suspension. Isn’t precedents a big factor in these cases?

SMHsport It Seems when certain players do something wrong on the field there high profile friends dont like the results judiciary system hands out and start complaining and giving the NRL a hard time and say its flawed but rules are rules deal with it no one is bigger than the game

SMHsport I believe he should get a game for that. the Judiciary system is flawed, but the rules dictate you get penalised - and reported - for tripping an opponent. but, hey, let’s just interpret the rules and penalties to suit ourselves ... that’s what ‘everybody’ does these days 😳😳😳

SMHsport Couldn’t possibly be any worse than Rugby Asstralia, run by QantAss and ANAL JOYce 😏
