The review, headed up by former social services minister Kevin Andrews, will also examine child supportCoalition backbenchers and the crossbench, including One Nation leader Pauline Hanson, have been calling for an inquiry for some time, arguing the system is too expensive and slow. The inquiry will be run by former social services minister and long-serving Liberal MP Kevin Andrews."Family law in Australia needs a major review from a practical, non-legal perspective to overcome lengthy delays and costly court actions in an antagonistic, confrontational system," she said.the pitfalls of this hugely dysfunctional system for decades."

Nationals backbencher George Christensen welcomed the news on Facebook, saying the inquiry would"address the hurt that many Australians — mums, dads and kids — are feeling at the hands of both the family law and child support systems."
