The loyal voters still backing Tony Abbott in Warringah

Prime Minister Scott Morrison has written to voters in Warringah in support of Tony Abbott, saying he "understand[s] that many people in Warringah have strong opinions about your local MP".

A member of the"Bold and Beautiful" swimming group Jacques Lepron has yet to decide how he will vote in Warringah.The letter comes as Mr Abbott enters the last week of what he has called "the fight of my life" to hang onto his seat, which he holds on an 11 per cent margin. Mr Rochester said he thought the former prime minister faced "a lot of jealousy because he’s very high profile".

Asked who is starting arguments with Abbott voters, he said: "I don’t think it is so much Zali [Steggall] supporters that are aggressive, but anti-Tony people are aggressive. But Liberal elder Bruce Baird, the father of former NSW premier Mike Baird, described Mr Abbott as a "very good member" who deserved respect as a former leader.
