Former prime minister Tony Abbott is a "full time, committed" MP who uses his physical and mental discipline to dedicate "24 hours of his day" to others, according to former NSW Crown prosecutor Margaret Cunneen.
Mr Abbott is "a full-time, committed member of Parliament, member for Warringah," Ms Cunneen said. "But because he is so physically and mentally disciplined, 24 hours of his day is really given to others."Ms Cunneen also launched a defence of Mr Abbott on the grounds of personal character and likeability, claiming that when people say they don't like Tony Abbott, "no one can ever say why".
"They're people who don't know that he goes for 10 days a year to live with the Indigenous community in Arnhem, they're people who don't know that he's a firefighter at Davidson or a lifesaver at Queenscliff. They don't know how much he's put into the Women's Shelter or Bear Cottage," she said.which she denounced as"extraordinarily draconian"
