A bet allegedly made by former prime minister Tony Abbott that climate change would not change in 10 years has been slammed as 'outrageous' and 'revolting' after details of the interaction were made public.

"For me, and especially for all of my peers, we just think that climate change is such a big issue and we just want you, as my representative because I live in Warringah, to understand that we want climate action now," Elsie Loadman told Mr Abbott on

Friday. But Mr Abbott responded that the financial cost of climate action was high and added that it was his duty, as their local member, to"tell them to truth not just agree" with the students."I was so mad that I couldn't speak for a period of time."

If Earth climate can change in evey ten years, there wouldn't be any complex life visible in life. Too little time for evolution. How is it possible for TonyAbbottMHR to lose this unlosable bet?

He won the bet. Surfers Paradise still isn't under. You lunatics.

Sometimes I feel embarrassed to live in a country where people like Tony get to be our leaders.

And it's true,it didn't change. ha ha ha ha ha

This is one of the reasons he’s not PM-thank goodness. Only an idiot or someone who time traveled from another century would say this. We don’t have 10 years if our next PM & other world leaders don’t act now!

Are people wonder why I call them idiots

He is an absolute goose and socially inept . Should never be put in a position of power again .

I think she will have to pay $100 to TonyAbbottMHR

This style of speech and written word is childish. The climate has been changing for 4.5 billion years and nothing we do will stop it. Human activity probably contributes little. Australia's contribution is practically zero. We are inundated with lies and lunatics.

What is it about those massive wing nuts of his that makes people think that he can’t hear into the future?! Surely we must trust this dumbo looking specimen

Criticising Abbott about climate change is wasted energy, better to criticise the world's biggest emitter, China. Stop buying made in China is more effective.

🤣🤣🤣🤣

I hope he wins the bet

He is so irrelevant, can he just go away and take Howard with him. Both keep popping their heads up when they are not wanted.

Ta ta Phony Tony😂

He needs to be made extinct from parliament.

The Dinosaur.

bsadams25 Should lose him another few thousand votes

If it's so outrageous, put your money where your mouth is. He did.

GlobalWarming, err, ClimateChange, err, ClimateDisruption, err, ClimateWeirding, err, ClimateBreakdown, err, ClimateCatastrophe ... still waiting ... ten years left bullshit. These lies have been coming thick & fast for years ... preying on the cretinous ... who lap it up.

The indoctrinated masses begin their hissing in unison 😁

Australians cannot 'Save the Planet' - Facts vs Fiction & Religion auspol.

Toenail. The sitcom continues.

Well he has put his money where his mouth is. has any of the brainwashed taken him up on it?

'We've got a dilemma': Meet the 'Liberal' backers of Zali Steggall out to retire Tony AbbottThe quiet revolution against Tony Abbott in Warringah is being led, not by the well-connected bankers and financiers of the electorate, but by their switched-on wives. Since she is so concerned about climate change and clearly has the financial capacity, the affluent suburbs should subsidize the West and pay 2-5 times in power costs. Talk is cheap.
