Teenage girl 'shot with arrow' at Queensland supermarket

A 15-year-old girl has been shot by a man brandishing a compound bow and arrow at a supermarket in Ipswich, west of Brisbane, police say.Inspector Heath McQueen says the man fired two arrows toward the supermarket, injuring a teenage girlInspector Heath McQueen said a 25-year-old man was at Booval train station wearing a black hoodie and mask, armed with the compound bow.

Inspector McQueen said the man fired again at a car on the corner of Railway Street and South Station Road in Booval. He said the man then continued to the Aldi supermarket in Booval, firing another two arrows — one at the entrance and one towards the back of the store, which injured the teenager.non-life-threatening injuries to her hand and abdomen.

"Some bystanders then bravely accosted that male person and detained him until police arrived," Inspector McQueen said."At this point in time, preliminary investigations haven't identified that it's a targeted attack," Inspector McQueen said.Posted
