The 19-year-old and his 17-year-old accomplice have both pleaded guilty to killing Zeeshan Akbar during a violent rampage on the NSW-ACT border in April 2017.

The teens were aged 15 and 16 when they attacked Zeeshan Akbar, 29, inside a Queanbeyan Caltex and left him for dead during a violent rampage on the NSW-ACT border in April 2017.The older teen pleaded guilty to murder in the NSW Supreme Court on Monday, just before his judge-alone trial was due to begin.

He also admitted robbery with an offensive weapon causing grievous bodily harm, assault occasioning actual bodily harm and stealing a car.He was due to face a jury trial last week, but that was scrapped after the 17-year-old on Wednesday entered pleas of guilty to murder and the aggravated taking of a motor vehicle while a person was inside.

The 17-year-old spoke only twice in court to say "guilty" when asked how he wished to plead to the charges.Both teens, who cannot be named for legal reasons, are due to face a sentencing hearing on October 31.
