A state school in Melbourne' south-west has reversed its plan to reopen on Tuesday after receiving conflicting advice from two government departments

A large state school in Wyndham was forced to reverse its plan to reopen on Tuesday after receiving conflicting advice from two Victorian government departments.

It was one of almost 70 Victorian schools listed as shut on Tuesday due to a recent positive case, prompting calls from school leaders to close all classrooms and send students home for remote learning.Joe Armao An assistant principal at the college, who declined to be identified, said the conflicting advice was "just a dog’s breakfast".

A Department of Health spokesperson said contact tracing at Manor Lakes was due to be completed by the end of Tuesday, and thanked the school, students and parents for their patience and co-operation.
