Lawyers for former Penhros College teachers Harry Schmitz and Jay Walsh say they will be pleading not guilty to charges of sexually abusing two students at the Perth school.

Two former teachers at a private girls school will be pleading not guilty to charges of sexually abusing two students more than 30 years ago.They were charged after an inquiry into alleged abuse by ex-teachersHarry Schmitz, 68, and Jay Walsh, 72, were teachers at Penrhos College, in the Perth suburb of Como in the 1980s when they allegedly abused the girls, who were aged between 14 and 16.

Both men made their first appearance in the Perth Magistrates Court today, with the police prosecutor applying for the charges to ultimately be ferried to the District Court. The application was not opposed by either man's lawyer, and they both told the court all of the charges against their clients would be defended.The teachers allegedly abused two Penhros College students in the 1980s.
