It's only a pledge to appease climate Alarmists.

They have to, as the investment community will push the change. You are seeing it with new hope!

Craig Kelly and Matt Canavan will be crying in their beers.

The attention span of left-wing cucks is a 12-hour cycle. BHP can say they'll do anything 30-years from now and they're covered. This will keep the looney Left off their backs.

They better start cracking & hook into the Lithium trade. Those trucks & trains are going to need it.

Is there no limit to what those lefty greenies in Rio Tinto & BHP will stoop to?

Australia must hit net zero by 2050 to meet Paris: scientistsTop scientists say for Australia to honour the Paris Agreement and limit global warming to less than two degrees, the country must reach net zero emissions before 2050 Yes, no doubt the alt right bobbleheads will be on their microphones screaming the house down with, what would the scientists know. Zero by 2050 is not sole test of climate purity - it is one case, others push out to end of century. Given modle uncertainties & other impacts on climate (sun) it shows this is not the one hill to die on with no test of cost/benefit It took less than 10 years to put a man on the Moon why do we even need 30 years to de-carbonise our economy? We've already identified the alternative sources of energy and done mass user testing to see it works.

Barnaby Joyce accuses NSW govt of ulterior motives in zero net emissions commitment | Sky News AustraliaFormer deputy prime minister Barnaby Joyce has criticised the New South Wales government for committing to a 2050 zero net emissions target claiming the Berejiklian government only adopted it to obtain Greens preferences at the next election.\n\nThe Nationals MP added the government was not being honest about the economic costs of the target, which he said would be a huge burden on industry.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia\n\n Barnaby_Joyce GladysB Haven’t the LNP already adopted that target for the nation when they signed the Paris Agreement? Barnaby_Joyce GladysB No Barnaby. It’s sensible policy to encourage investment Barnaby_Joyce GladysB So I guess the 73 countries around the world are all chasing greens preferences. Every state and territory in Australia are chasing green preferences. Barnaby is so yesterday, he is a backbenchers so why do you bother with his rants. The man is a brainless drunken philanderer

Albanese's emissions target announcement had no 'facts and figures' | Sky News AustraliaPolitical Journalist Jim Middleton says he was “perplexed” over the “timing” of Anthony Albanese’s emissions target announcement. \n\nThe Opposition Leader announced Labor had committed to a zero net emissions target by 2050 and would be taking it to the next election. \n\nMr Middleton told Sky News he was “also a bit perplexed at the time that there were no facts and figures attached to it, rather an aspirational goal and intention”.\n\n“Labor mucked this up so significantly during the last the last election campaign,' he said. \n\nImage: News Corp Australia Coalition jumping on this but its ridiculous, their own 'commitment to Paris' in fact means they are signed up to the same 2050 target, ALSO with no figures about the cost. Figures appearing from reliable sources. But even Innes Willox of AIG says 'Dont get too hung up on cost' Albo is a lost soul with the knife stabber standing so close by. I agree, Such a pointless announcement. In saying that it makes sense for the LNP to make the same announcement, it means nothing. The world's emmissions are increasing, you would think no more than handful of countries will reach net zero by 2050.
