An aged care centre that was forced into lockdown this week had elderly volunteers stationed at a COVID-19 checkpoint.

after four residents began experiencing symptoms. All four have since tested negative to the coronavirus.

“As part of Lutheran Services’ continual quality assurance and improvement processes, we have recently changed our management team here at Immanuel Gardens,” Mr Ryan said. “This is not an appropriate role for people living in our retirement village. Swift action has been taken, including a thorough review of all volunteer protocols.”
