Shoppers are reporting “grabbing and fighting” over the store’s Special Buys despite social distancing rules. So should they be cancelled?

to implement a ticket or number system to prevent the “rushing, grabbing and fighting over Special Buys” given Australians can be fined for not adhering to social distancing rules.

– but following yesterday’s kitchen appliance sale that saw items being snapped up by hordes of shoppers, some claiming social distancing went out the window – the topic has reared its head again. “I do feel like there should be some sort of system in place to allow those who get there first the first chance to buy, while maintaining social distancing,” one wrote

“All of those people have lined up and crowded with other people for no reason. In normal times, this is not a big deal. But when there is such an easily spread virus going around, it seems really cavalier and selfish.”

They are already stopping the heavy specials in VIc. We can only be out for shopping for a maximum oh 1hr. I waiting till 0740 to leave so I could get a spin bike and be home by 0840. When they opened they said they cancelled them because of COVID. So disappointed.

I think we should ban humanity. That will solve it.

Yes CANCEL during lockdown

Or human beings could display some basic personal responsibility !

Maybe in your covid eastern states. But not over here in Westralia

yes, lets ALL listen to one disgruntled Mutha who obviously missed out on grabbing a Special Item bargain...

Is that why I never get the specials? I always let everyone go first... That's how I was brought up...

Went to one for the waffle machine, everyone stood in line and took turns. Was quite orderly actually.

Yes, when the specials are on it’s every person for themselves with no social distancing and supervision and control by ALDI staff.

Don't fight over goods for sale is the best way of preventing WuFlu contamination if that worries people. You don't need central government to regulate that ......... yet.

You can have the most stringent rules and regulations in place, but no shackles on earth can hold a dedicated Aldi shopper down during a kitchen appliance special...

Yes !

Greed of worthless things, is still greed. How pathetic people are. What they clamber for but do not need. Is, upon humanity, another festering scar. GMD

Agree. People becoming animals. No common decency
