Protests continue across the US after black man Rayshard Brooks was shot dead by Atlanta police at the weekend when he resisted arrested and allegedly attempted to fire at the officers with a taser stun gun. Mr Nwanevu told Sky News “protests against what happened to Rayshard Brooks are going to look like a continuation of what we’ve already been seeing these past few weeks”.
“The Floyd situation I think has created new energy for reform conversations that were already going on,” he said. “I think the one change now is you also have the movement that is fundamentally interested in transforming or reworking law enforcement in conception in this country. “Whether that conversation develops into something that lasts beyond the next couple of weeks and is carried into the political future I think remains to be seen.
