Queensland investigating 'travel bubble' with NSWThe Queensland government is considering whether it is legally and logistically possible to create a travel bubble with NSW. Not Vic sadly. That won’t happen until next month if not later. WTF? A travel bubble with one of worst performing Covid states in Australia? A bubble with WA, NT, SA and Tas is fine. But not with the joint epicentre of the outbreak. Poor old Queensland keeps pretending people want to go there.

NSW would consider sending 'strong message' on defamation of statues: Berejiklian | Sky News AustraliaNSW Premier Gladys Berejiklian has told Sky News the government will consider tightening laws to “send a strong message” against the defamation of Australian historical statues if necessary.\n\nStatues of historical figures across the globe have been destroyed in the wake of the growing Black Lives Matter movement with monuments of slave traders, and influential people, such as Christopher Columbus and even Winston Churchill, suffering at the hands of protesters.\n\nThese actions have spread to Australia with people defaming statues of Captain James Cook, while on Saturday busts of former prime ministers John Howard and Tony Abbott were spray painted over.\n\nPremier Berejiklian said if citizens hold strong views they should consider expressing them “in a proper way, not by disrespecting people” who have made strong contributions to Australian society.\n\nAs with the defamation of statues, TV shows and movies have been stripped from streaming services as it is believed they may be culturally insensitive.\n\nThe premier said she was “really struggling” with the idea of eliminating these works, and said “if things are done in a comedic or satirical way, it’s really a comment on broader society”.\n\n“We should be a bit more tolerant of things which are done in a tongue in cheek, satirical way without disrespecting people who find offence”.\n\nSpeaking on NSW’s economic recovery along with that of the rest of the nation, Ms Berejiklian said the government is making sure the community is safe while “working hard to open our economy as quickly as possible”.\n\nShe said this was why she is “aghast that some premiers think it’s ok to keep their borders up; it defies logic”.\n\nImage: News Corp Australia GladysB The ugly insulting colonial white statues glorifying criminals deserve no respect, along with a bogus colonial white supremacy Government ruling by a 230 yr 'white theft and black genocide' colonial criminal Legacy. Interstate travel bans should be ‘lifted immediately’: Treasurer | Sky News AustraliaTreasurer Josh Frydenberg has urged reluctant state governments to immediately lift domestic travel restrictions, rather than waiting until next month, in order to boost the nation’s flagging tourism sector.\n\nQueensland and South Australia have announced they will lift the restrictions on interstate travel from July 10, pending no upsurge in COVID-19 cases.\n\nHowever, Tasmania’s government has only committed to “considering” opening its borders in July.\n\nMr Frydenberg told Sky News “closed borders costs jobs.”\n\n“We know tourism is a very big business in Australia, but also particularly in Queensland,” he said.\n\n“There is no medical reason according to the deputy chief medical officer, as to why those border restrictions should be in place, and that’s why they should be lifted.\n\n“If you see the lifting of those border restrictions, you will see our economy recover much faster.”\n JoshFrydenberg No point in keeping them closed. Thousands and thousands protesting make a mockery of any lingering restrictions so may as well open it all up again now and just make the best of it by supporting the economy. JoshFrydenberg Well at this point after the protests it is looking like all the restrictions are a waste of time in a few more days we will know for sure

QLD suggests ‘travel bubble’ with NSW when borders reopenQueensland’s border could open earlier than planned if Australia’s COVID-19 status improves, but if certain states continue to show cases – like Victoria – Deputy Premier Steven Miles said the state’s government may consider a possible “travel bubble” with neighbouring states. Our illustrious governments at work in solving the coronavirus issue. Most wouldn't be able to run a garage sale. Destroyed our once vibrant community with their stupidity based on flawed medical advise. Has she changed her medical position since the lancet removed its report claiming hydroxychloroquin is dangerous because it was rubbish science . Will doctors still be fined 13000 dollars for prescribing this 70 year old 'dangerous' malaria drug. bit extreme isn't it?
