The 42-year-old is accused of filming a police officer as she lay dying on a Melbourne freeway. His lawyers say the charge of outraging public decency is invalid, but the prosecution maintains it exists under Australian law.

Constable Glen Humphris, Senior Constable Kevin King, Leading Senior Constable Lynette Taylor and Constable Joshua Prestney were killed in the crash on April 22.

But today, Mr Dann said the charge of committing an act outraging public decency was "unusual" and "unrecognisable" in Victoria. "That indicates from the outset that this offence has been dealt with in this jurisdiction on a previous occasion."But while the focus today was on what the parties could not agree on, there appears to have been a significant shift in the rhetoric around some of Mr Pusey's alleged behaviour while filming the dying police officer.

The thing is, I think most people see him as being responsible - his actions by choice was the catalyst of the tragedy.

Public execution required

Doesn’t exist?!? - Nice one lawyers .... Meanwhile the rest of Melbourne wish Richard Pusey didn’t exist

I'm decent. I'm outraged. There, it does exist.

Hope so 👍🏻

Gees, so now a release and re-arrest putting into doubt the use of previously gathered evidence?

He was clearly high.. which explains his (putrid) response post truck impact.. i found the hate/blame attributed to him interesting.. in Victoria guilt or innocence seems to be determined by ones popularity

Ridiculous..........charges for someone who is a low life arsehole. Should not be in jail.

What a pussey

Save the courts time No shortage of volunteers to man the Firing Squad

Why is the brand of car relevant? It's like ABC News watcher Richard Pusey... please reconsider the damage to the Porsche brand for unnecessarily mentioning them.

So many people think this was the guy that killed the cops.. He was just a rich dick. The truck driver is the real villain here.

He should be charged with stupidity. So much of it around these days, something has to be done about it.

This p.o.s. can be charged for failing to assist an injured officer, failing to call the police in an accident with injured officer, reckless driving. Who can look at someone dying and be so cold and cynical? LawAndOrder auspol

If he doesn’t want to got to trial, easy. Plead guilty.

Our goverment has gone full dictatorship, and our media has gone full support propaganda! We need to demand accountability and transparency from our “leaders”! Enough compliance with a clearly draconian Gov and police that have let power go to their heads! No more compliance!

Care factor ?

Free dick pussy

His lawyers claim he should get off the 'outraging public decency' charge because it doesn't exist. Except for all the other charges, like drug charges driving offences and failing to render assistance, which his very expensive QCs want the court to kindly ignore.

Hope he's found guilty and sentenced to thrinty six years

P, O, S.

Richard Pusey was made fun of by the media because he was a Porsche driver.

Queensland records one new case of coronavirus after 20,000 tests conductedQueensland records one new coronavirus case in Forest Lake — a close contact of an existing case — after more than 20,000 Queenslanders are tested for COVID-19 in the last 24 hours. Queenslanders are healthy. This is now a fact .Could the ABC tabulate the cost of this mass testing please. It seems a fruitless exercise when that money should go directly to aged care protection and the borders now opened. But Trump said.... Hooray you guys finally found one haha
