Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck has apologised for not knowing the number of Australians in nursing homes who have died so far from COVID-19.

Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck has apologised for not knowing how many Australians in nursing homes have died so far from COVID-19.

"You don't know how many people have passed away and you're now telling me you don't know how many people have the infection?" Aged Care Minister Richard Colbeck appears via video link at the Senate inquiry into COVID-19 at Parliament House in Canberra on 21 August.Senator Gallagher directed the same question to Senator Colbeck during question time in the Senate on Monday.

"We saw, frankly, a minister appear before the COVID-19 committee who is not up to this task, just not up to it," Labor leader Anthony Albanese told the House of Representatives. Labor's deputy Senate leader Kristina Keneally also zeroed in on the minister's knowledge of figures, asking how many coronavirus cases had been linked to Melbourne's Epping Gardens - one of the worst-hit facilities.

Hydroxychloroquine Should Be Available Over The Counter

Like, when you know you're going to a hearing wouldn't you do some basic research first? Just to familiarise yourself?

This guy is incredible. Fumbled the figures in front of the inquiry the other day. Fumbles the figures in parliament today! No excuses, he has to go.

Oh well that makes it alright then! 😠

Time to go Richard. Don’t let the door hit you on your way out!

Crocodile tears from a very evil man.

Apologies don't just make things better. No excuses for your ignorance about the magnitude and the tragedy within your portfolio. Ultimate disrespect to those families! richardmcolbeck

Time to step down no plan plain and simple so very sad for families

Apart from this virus (six months how often would you be advised of day to day deaths in aged care Is it everyday or has this become a political pump up for Albo ect.Liberal or Labor has any politician with this folio been told day to day of numbers?

He should apologise for way more than that

Extremely embarrassing, pathetic and not worth whatever he earns. Totally out of touch with his portfolio during an international crisis. PATHETIC

But, not for failing catastrophically in his job as Aged Care Minister.

Resignation. Nothing more.

Again...

Ah right, all good then? Carry on. 🙄

So he should. It should be the first thing he considers every day.

Don't think disagreeing with the royal commissioners' assertions will cut it this time. How pompous can he get? CroweDM Funny how Victoria has the only problem with aged care deaths...Hopefully the report puts the blame squarely on Daniel Andrews for sending the elderly sick Covid sufferers back to the homes. CroweDM A pandemic with a 0.25% mortality rate, one tenth of the Spanish flu, even disregarding the recent admissions that every death in aged care post-covid is being counted as OF covid.

Federal Minister David Littleproud says he is 'very sympathetic' to families after Ruby Princess coronavirus deathsThe Agriculture Minister stops short of apologising but has ordered a review of his department's involvement, saying he is 'open' to making changes. That's some next level accountability right there. Sounds like a humble guy The very best thing the owners of the Ruby Princess can do now is to send the ship to the breakers yard, as no right minded person would ever want to travel on it.

New York could be ‘over-diagnosing’ COVID deaths | Sky News AustraliaCOVID-19 deaths classified as dying from coronavirus rather than with coronavirus may explain New York’s “much higher death rate” than Sweden, according to Swedish ER doctor Sebastian Rushworth.\n\n“Maybe they’re over diagnosing,” Dr Rushworth told Sky News.\n\nSome emerging reports seem to endorse the herd immunity strategy utilised by Sweden, which has now recorded far fewer deaths per capita than the United Kingdom while maintaining basic freedoms and a far milder recession.\n\nImage: AP It's the same in Australia. They are reporting people who died WITH Covid. The avg age of death from Covid is 85. EconomicsTeach5 Obviously. We have seen this in the UK, we know this is the case. Its obvious the UK and America wouldn't have done this badly lol, now we just wanna know why... why a vaccine is needed, why we collapsed the economy, why we have implemented hypochondriac precautions for the flu. Ohhh ffs these poor souls are dead 😪🙈 they had coronivirus and they are now deceased , leave it , just fkn leave it !!!!
