Labor has pledged to spend $60 million to create about 20,000 funding packages for people fleeing domestic violence if it wins the next federal election.

But Mr Morrison later returned to the economy and raised fears of a recession if Labor wins government. He predicted it would take the Opposition’s management of the economy less than three years to “stuff the whole thing”.“It's everything we've come to expect from a desperate prime minister with no economic policy of his own."Veteran barrister and human rights advocate Julian Burnside will run as a Greens candidate against Treasurer Josh Frydenberg in his Melbourne seat.

Burnside will run as a Green candidate for the safe Liberal seat of Kooyong , banking on climate change and human rights as vote winners. Environment Minister Melissa Price said the latest quarterly figures showing a decline in Australia’s carbon emissions was the start of a downward trend.
