How much had it previously withdrawn since 2013 ? Be a lot more. Also a big difference between this government’s $ announcements and the money actually flowing - ask the bushfire victims.

Notional or actual funding?

Don't get con. That money is to float the investors / operators so they will not close down. Only scraps of help, if any, will make it to the residents. ScoMo only looking after his mates pockets.

This guy is the scum of the earth.

The Age...Yawn. Heard it all before...to no effect. Yawn again.

Until they abolish for-profit ownership that money's just going in maseratis anyway. Elderly people need to be in the care of people who have more to gain from them staying alive than from them dying.

As a nurse in aged care I can tell you that if there was no profit to be made then companies like BUPA would not be building aged care facilities - the govt should stop people from profiting from aged care - I know people who own aged care facilities and are now millionaires 😡

😡😡 mandate ratios for carer:residents !!!! Don’t just keep throwing money away! More regulation .. old people need a carer’s time NOT more money!

Obviously God decided to give up on ScoMo, an abject failiure as a PM and a Christian.

Oh well that's OK then

Still less than the cuts from Morrison when he was the responsible Minister

$1 Billion BEFORE any pandemic would’ve been nice. The way our country treats the elderly and disabled is the biggest disgrace in the country and politicians on BOTH SIDES should hang their collective heads in shame. Disgusted.

And the LNP always said you couldn't fix problems by throwing money at it. Just imagine if we had a properly funded health, education and social services sectors, we wouldn't have these collapses.

How much have the LNP ripped out over the last few decades?

You mean the money you ripped out of it in the first place?

If only this had been spent BEFORE the pandemic.

how much did they take out before the pandemic I thought is was something like $1.6 million. Tell me if I am wrong

Morrison needs to get used to the useless Colbeck.

How much did they cut?

So, maybe a silly question, but why such a big discrepancy between positive cases in private as opposed to state run facilities?

Have they increase the minimum staffing levels to match what is used in Vic state run facilities? How about setting a limit on profit made to ensure people are not ripped off. Best solution put all in care of the state.

Still short of the $1.2 billion ripped out of aged care by Morrison a couple of years ago.

So how much did they originally take out ?

The aged, too irrelevant to be anything but an afterthought.

How does that compare to what it has cut out of the sector in the 7 years?

But, private ownership remains so ... Attention nursing home moguls! Better pre-order those Maseratis now to avoid delays

Didn't ScottMorrisonMP rip $1.2 billion out of the sector? So, by all accounts, they are back where they started, and only because his govt is incompetent.

All Aussie laws and politicians are illegal! MSM is guilty of the same Under what jurisdiction? No jurisdiction = no authority = no power to do anything PeoplesTreaty Didge Productions on YT AussieDidge Dylan.Wilson.3591 on FB

A bit late Morrison you knew Age care has been underfunded for years . Shame on you and your government 😥

So still sitting at minus $1b...

Sour grapes from me here in Melbourne. If had a drink for every time NSW was highlighted as the poster child I would be drunk.

When the shit hits the fan he comes out with a token amount of money for which we have no guarantee it will be spent. The man needs to beheld to account.CrimeMinister auspol

Does that make up for the outlandish cuts of funding scomo personally made in proceeding years? Probably not....

Another money announcement. So how much has been promised (from the bushfire to now) and how much has been delivered.

Have we not learned to never ever ever ever ever believe Bullshit SloMo when he says he’s going to find something? How about a bit of journalism ?

How much of that will end up in Maseratis and faux antique ?

More to spend on families who agree on a Covid death certificate.

MWhalan is that what they have said or is that what they have actually done? there tends to be a pattern of doing nothing $1billion invested, but nothing built. Classic Libs.
