An audit of the NSW Labor Party's finances has raised concerns about the impact of a $1 million legal bill, stemming from the Independent Commission Against Corruption.

An audit of the NSW Labor Party's finances has raised concerns about the impact of a $1 million legal bill, stemming from the Independent Commission Against Corruption. The party paid $700,000 to former general secretary Kaila Murnain, who has resigned over a political donations scandal.

Labor has also been forced to forfeit the $100,000 cash gift at the centre of the inquiry. The auditor's report outlines a serious cash flow issue, triggering speculation it will be forced to find new ways to bolster party coffers, according to The Australian newspaper. Drought gives NSW 'incentive, motivation' to push for extra dams | Sky News AustraliaNSW Water Minister Melinda Pavey says the state’s severe drought has given the government “the incentive and motivation” to get extra dams on the way. \n \n“In the past, there hasn’t been the money or the political will,” Ms Pavey told Sky News host Chris Kenny. \n \nMs Pavey said she hopes to have “ approvals done within six months” for the Dungowan, Wyangala, and Mole River dams. \n \nThe Water Minister’s statements come as dam levels continue to drop. \n \nCity drinking water supplies are at 48.1 per cent, whilst rural supplies are at 31 per cent.\n And concentrate on food storage Wish Queensland would do the same and build more dams. Our Labor State government are hopeless only interested in giving pay rises to Public Servants. Missing the point I'm near Napean Dam close to Sydney its drying up. Avon dam is closed and others in poor state. If you haven't water to fill dams why build them? It's water management stupid, look at the Murray Darling system a bloody mess, yet we harp on about it doing nothing

Drought-affected NSW towns urged to get over over 'yuck' factor of recycled waterThe Tenterfield Council is the latest drought-stricken NSW town to consider recycled water as the town supply enters a critical stage. I genuinely don’t understand why there’s a yuck factor in Australia when most Aussies go abroad and drink lower quality water than suppliers here would send out of the recycled taps now, let alone when they’d be treating it to drinking water standards. Harden up, Australia. Put some of these around houses to harvest water..... Seems like a no-brainer. Singapore has been doing this for years and it's been fine.
