WA's voluntary assisted dying bill is at risk of being heavily delayed, with a push underway in the Upper House to put a final vote on hold until well into 2020.

Supporters of VAD have been counting numbers this morning and are cautiously optimistic they will be able to defeat the motion, but concede that is far from guaranteed.

A voluntary assisted dying regime is on the cards for WA, but will anyone with a terminal illness be able to legally end their lives? Here's what you need to know. A similar eight-month timeframe for a review of the VAD bill would mean the inquiry would not be completed until next June, pushing a final vote towards the end of 2020.As the voluntary assisted dying debate rages in WA, David Goodall's family is still processing the 104-year-old's decision to travel to Switzerland to end his life.

The pro lifers should allow others to have a choice. It's a law that gives people the right to decide. If you choose pain killers, it's your choice. If you choose to end the pain, it's your choice. I don't understand why people are against this.

Hospitals will only give a certain amount of pain medication. They won’t give you enough to be pain free because they worry it might kill you & result in lawsuits. There is no such thing as a pain free death. I support voluntary euthanasia. I support the right to choice wapol
