Sydney aged care facility Newmarch House gave itself full marks in a pandemic readiness self-assessment 18 days before an outbreak of COVID-19 that killed 17 residents.

I didn't want to tell him why he was by himself.”When Newmarch called to ask her to update her father’s end of life form, she asked if there was a reason.She told the royal commission that staff needed better training. “Just giving us more information about what was happening within the facility, because I didn't have access to any of that,” she said.
