New South Wales Labor leader Jodi McKay says she and her federal Labor counterpart are on a “unity ticket” to reform the party amid the political donation scandal.

Four months into her leadership, the state opposition leader told Sky News the Labor Party will now live by the ethos of “whatever is right” ethos, rather than “whatever it takes” which has ruled the branch for so long.

“Our members have felt so distressed and let down again by our party and wherever I’ve gone we’ve had thousands of decent, good, hardworking party members who want more and should have more,” she told Sky News.“Nobody is going to vote for us if they don’t trust us.”Kaila Murnain was suspended by the party after revealing to ICAC she knew about the alleged illegal donation.

Ms McKay told Sky News it was important she acted quickly to remove Ms Murnain from her role in order for the party to move forward.
