NSW Now: Bus strike cancelled after Government offers concessions, cold front to bring snow

A bus strike scheduled for Monday has been averted in Sydney, with the union saying it compromised community safety. The strike had been called due to concerns by bus drivers over some passengers not wearing masks, and others becoming agitated about social distancing.

The union's David Babineau said the State Government had offered several concessions, with a further meeting to be held on Monday. Motorists are being urged to drive with caution later today, with a strong cold front bringing rain and snow to parts of south-eastern and central NSW. Mr Page said despite it being a major construction project, contractor LendLease had not provided enough protection for workers at the site, which was on an old dump.

I’m glad the bus drivers got the snow they were asking for in the cold front. It was good of the government to give them that concession.
