The Herald Sun’s James Campbell says Liberal MP Gladys Liu’s “most damaging” action has been her “lukewarm” comments on the pro-democracy protests spanning months in Hong Kong.
Ms Liu, who was born in Hong Kong, has been under fire for comments made during a trainwreck interview with Sky News host Andrew Bolt following scrutiny over alleged links to the Communist Party of China. Speaking to Sky News, Mr Campbell said Ms Liu is “at pains” to stress she’s a Hongkonger but has not been “impressive” in her support of the demonstrations there. Image: AP
