Author Clive Hamilton says it’s “lamentable” that in recent years all political leaders on both sides have “tiptoed” around the Communist Party of China, even when it “engages in egregious acts”.

In an interview with Sky News host Andrew Bolt on Tuesday night, Liberal MP Gladys Liu – who has been scrutinised over alleged links to the CPC – denied being a mouthpiece for the party but refused to condemn Beijing's actions in the South China Sea or criticise President Xi Jinping. Mr Hamilton said “the most significant thing” in the interview was not what Ms Lieu said, but what she didn’t or couldn’t say.

CliveCHamilton Do we have a spy in government?

CliveCHamilton Another case of don’t get favors 💰 from CCP - China. You will ultimately loose all credibility & respect.
