Knackery in 7.30 story was taken to court for animal cruelty last monthBurns Pet Food at Riverstone pleaded guilty to aggravated animal cruelty relating to dozens of cattle and an injured sheep only a month before the ABC's 7.30 report into the slaughter of horses. We often talk abt how our licestocks are treated so badly overseas. Yet in our own backyard the situation is no different. This was very disturbing. No social participation for Melbourne Cup this year. No offence ABC but this headline is ANOTHER beatup. That business was/is going bust, and didn't have any horses there... So this is a scream for attention, rather than factual reporting, which is sad.

Ripped-off workers were repaid $40m last year, while bosses were fined $4.4mThe Fair Work Ombudsman just had its busiest year on record, with 18,000 workers repaid after having their wages stolen and 23 court cases netting $4.4 million in fines. Why a pro-business government doesn’t heavily fine cheaters is hard to understand. The effect of wage cheating is to have an unfair advantage over your competitor who is paying more in taxes. It’s a lose lose for government and supporters to not penalise cheaters. Just dumb. righttoknow & when will there be a Royal Commission?

Last-ditch bid to delay WA voluntary euthanasia laws in face of Government warningsWA's voluntary assisted dying bill is at risk of being heavily delayed, with a push underway in the Upper House to put a final vote on hold until well into 2020. Hospitals will only give a certain amount of pain medication. They won’t give you enough to be pain free because they worry it might kill you & result in lawsuits. There is no such thing as a pain free death. I support voluntary euthanasia. I support the right to choice wapol The pro lifers should allow others to have a choice. It's a law that gives people the right to decide. If you choose pain killers, it's your choice. If you choose to end the pain, it's your choice. I don't understand why people are against this.

South Australian tourists fall 16 metres after Queensland zipline 'snapped'An Australian father has died and his wife is in hospital after they fell from a zipline at Camelot Close at Cape Tribulation in Queensland. Very very sad. Most of these adventure thrills have little or no safety back ups or daily maintenance checks to prevent such calamities. Wonder how planning authorities considered it okay to permit such operations that have no foolproof safety systems in place?! 😠 AnnastaciaMP visitdaintree Neither QldGov nor other theme/amusement park operators have learned anything from the disastrous GoldCoast Dreamworld accident of 2016 that killed 4 patrons. Will a massive legal suit on the Govt & the company make them comply?! visitdaintree theqldpremier AnnastaciaMP
