The Federal opposition are set to lodge a motion for debate in parliament, declaring a climate emergency. 9News

Labor will ask the government to amend the bill ensuring state-owned electricity assets can't be partially or fully privatised if forcibly divested.

Opposition Leader Anthony Albanese says the legislation has been fixed up - in Labor's view - from what was presented to the previous parliament. A wholesale conduct prohibition bans generators from manipulating the spot market, for example by withholding supply to inflate prices.

The irony is they are describing themselves...

This real science puts it into perspective....

greenpeace Dr Patrick Moore and climate science

Labour would join Scientologists if it would get them a few extra votes, heaven help it, they sure need them

Labour jumping on the band wagon to get more votes. Let’s let’s fix the drug, mobile phone, speeding and criminal problems we have. The climate issue isn’t going away,it will still be here for as long as we all live. It’s just going through it’s normal process

Here we go again, good old Labor vote grabbing again! Obviously didn’t learn anything after the election!!

You could probably write this about every party in Parliament

Repeat after me: Population is the reason.

You mean .... Desperation to get votes for your party as there's no same sex marriage bandwagon to jump on.

Oh NSWLabor .......you've learnt nothing.

Such a brave stance by Labor

Ridiculous! No amount of action by Australia would stop climate change. Australia emitted just 1.28% of greenhouse gases in 2017. China emitted 27.51% of greenhouse gases in 2017. auspol auspol2019
