Australian Strategic Policy Institute's Peter Jennings says the cyberattack on Australia is a 'political shot across the bows as much as it is an intelligence gathering effort' conducted by the Communist Party of China.

Australian Strategic Policy Institute's Peter Jennings says the cyberattack on Australia is a "political shot across the bows as much as it is an intelligence gathering effort" conducted by the Communist Party of China. When asked by Sky News host Chris Smith if he believed the cyberattack on Australia was "the work of China," Mr Jennings replied "absolutely".

The prime minister said the government had evidence the cyberattack was launched by a sophisticated state-based actor. While the Prime Minister would not confirm who was behind the attack, he said a state with “very significant capabilities” was responsible. Mr Jennings said "there's a couple of countries that have the capacity to do this". "Russia and North Korea come to mind, but they don't really have the scale and they don't really have the motive.

Hmm as if China cares about Australia. It really is grandiose to think Australia is that important. The non reply of the trade commission is proof of that. The Chinese can't even be bothered to kowtow to US demands...

Absolutely true

CCP can only be defeated by its own bad karma

Look at the ribotic little puppets

Get over yourself - you are crazy 😜 - the Chinese don’t give a flying fuck about Australia - ‘they are just not into you ‘ Australia - sorry 😝🤪😖

finally, we got reasons to buy US weapon.

I'm old enough to remember when Russia were the manufactured bad guy. They were accused of hacking an election, those were the days...

evidence?

We do not care Australia, we can forget it, where is Australia? But we CAN let you never forget CHINA.

A lot of shots across the bow, they’re going to run out of ammo.

Meanwhile Israel 🇮🇱 get rich & our media are still too scared to mention them even though they are the 2nd highest in cyber technology in the world after USA (who they stole from) . We were meant to be next to steal from ( AusLoyalWingman ) but Linda Reynolds put a stop to it !

China is picking fights with all the major economies of the world. Not wise China. You can't win this fight...

Mwengway72 China has taking a large percentage of Sydney Australia which comes with a price in terms of revenue dependency. Not too surprised

SUSPECTED? NOTHING SOURCES? NONE EVIDENCE? NONE. CHINA IS RIGHT TO DENY SUCH =

If I made that comment in a political science tutorial in a humanities course people would think I was stating the goddamn obvious

How about that CovidSafe App ey? Did that data remain 'safe'?

Feels like a placed story to stir unrest amongst the plebs. Lame. This zero days stuff has being going on for at least a decade.
