In the trademark infringement warning, the jewellery behemoth did not object to her use of the colour, just the phrase 'Tiffany blue'.

Hannah Poppins has built a business over five years making paper flowers for weddings and for use in advertising campaigns by companies including Katie's and Seafolly.by famous jewellery brand Tiffany & Co after describing the colour of one of her paper flowers as 'Tiffany blue".

Poppins imports paper from Italy to make the flowers, which she sells through her part-time business Miss Poppins & Me that turns over less than $50,000 a year.She says this particular coloured paper had been sitting in her drawer for a few years before she decided to use it to make a handful of flowers that she listed on online marketplace Etsy.

Tiffany & Co first published its blue book in 1845 and since then its signature blue hue has come to be immediately associated with the jewellery brand, which trademarked the colour in 1998.The jeweller has not objected to Poppins' use of the colour, just the phrase "Tiffany blue", and so Poppins has applied for the flowers to be relisted on Etsy with the colour described as "blue turquoise".
