So much has happened, it can be hard to keep track of all the casualties of the Great Racism Purge of 2020.

Unilever also agreed to remove references to “whitening” or “lightening” on the products.

Unilever president of beauty and personal care Sunny Jain said the company recognised “that the use of the words ‘fair’, ‘white’ and ‘light’ suggest a singular ideal of beauty that we don’t think is right, and we want to address this”.On June 25, American country trio theDixie refers to the Mason-Dixon line, the informal border between the free Northern states and the slave-owning Southern states of the Confederacy.

There’s clear issues with some of these brands but some of these are ridiculous. The Coco Pops monkey? Uncle Bens rice? We’re desperate to find the thinnest connotation of some sort of offence to be taken... where there simply is none.

It's a community mental ailment

Will everyone with a surname that sounds racist be forced to change name?

Why isn’t the CancelCulture getting out raged about this

Does it mean though that people with this surname will have a problem?

After reading this article I now know what I suspected the world has gone mad.

So nice to see all the indigenous currently incarcerated just got released and all those living in poverty now have money! Who knew all it took was renaming a cheese to solve 200 years + of oppression! Im gonna sleep well tonight knowing everything has been solved!!!

Coon cheese is named after its inventor. It’s not racist at all.

that black lives still matters or not ? I'm curious to see if the other lives matter at all and who is the one to decide definitely not the black people they are racist to white people ... maybe the aliens

So what are we doing about a ‘ flat white with one’? 😳

The world going stupid Bullshit never ends what about Mr Coon

During WW1 here in Townsville they changed the suburb of German Gardens to Belgium Gardens so nothing new.

They’re still making the cheese dickheads. I’m sure a fairly substantial marketing campaign advertising the new name of the cheese that sits on the same shelf spot as the old cheese will suffice.

I have always eaten coon!..and not once did I think it was racist!

Racist names and logos dropped, Murdoch media still pumping racist narratives. Ironic.

This rubbish is worse than the Gay rights movement. We live in the most multicultural country on planet earth?!!! how accepting is that?!I don't buy into this crap, no matter how many name changes they wanna have. in actual fact it's reversing my previous acceptance prior to BLM

The Aussie baby boomers will remember the good all days before 1975 when it was all the White Australia Policy.

'The Great Racism Purge of 2020' 🤦‍♂️🤡🤡

Yeap changing the name of a cheese is right up there with increasing indigenous life expectancy and indigenous school attendance.

Yes excellent, no more racism because we have changed a couple of names

The gentleman’s name was Edward William Coon ! The company who owns the cheese is clearly racist, those who suggested it and those who made the decision , this is shameful !

Great racsim purge? More tabloid clickbait trash from your cesspit 🖕🏽

I would like to thank all of these companies for solving racism. We are now a much better and more inclusive society as a result ❤️

I remember this, it was in the news...why is it here now?

Times change, standards evolve.

We are back in the nether world, and it feels like the crisis is slipping awayGovernments seem a bit stuck in mourning for the fact things haven't gone to plan, rather than changing gears for the long haul ahead of tackling the virus, writes Laura Tingle. Hindsight... Should've locked down hard like New Zealand. Well of course we are. Complete lack of leadership by the PM. And thank god for the federation...if Smirko had been in charge we would be looking like the US now. 'Governments seem a bit stuck in mourning for the fact things haven't gone to plan'. All the things that go through my mind when wearing a maskWeird but safe. That’s what I think about masks. Not saying I won’t wear one, I’m all for masking up to prevent the spread, flatten the curve, stop me poking chips into my mouth, whatever the reason. Remember 1919 : The Age proclaimed on March 10 that the weekend's reopening of Melbourne theatres marked an end to the 'ridiculous state of affairs' imposed by a 'panic stricken government' that had unfairly forced citizens to 'mope at home and get influenza of the brain'. 1 PER 1100 PPLE IN MELBOURNE HAVE A VIRUS, WHY ARE THE OTHER PPLE FORCED TO WEAR ONE.

Trader Joe’s success shows it is possible ‘to stand up to woke mobs’ | Sky News AustraliaAmerican retailer Trader Joe’s decision to reject an online push to rename some of its products demonstrates it is possible to resist the “woke outrage mobs of Twitter,” according to Sky News host James Morrow.\n \nAn online petition calling for Trader Joe to name what it calls its racist branding names has only secured 5,000 signatures.\n \nThe petition objects to the names ``Trader José' 'Trader Ming's' and 'San Joe,' which are placed on some international products.\n \nHowever, the retailer released a statement saying its brand names will stay the same.\n \n'We want to be clear: we disagree that any of these labels are racist. We do not make decisions based on petitions,' the business said in a statement.\n \nMr Morrow said Trader Joe’s decision is another example of the growing pushback against cancel culture.\n \n“People often ask, what is going to stop the lunatic Jacobin mobs of woke cancellers and statue smashers and the answer is simple,” Mr Morrow said.\n \n“The rest of us – business leaders, editors, university administrators, ordinary citizens – need to simply and calmly say, no, you can take all that energy you're spending on your twitter campaign or change.org petition and go do something useful, like get a real job.\n \n“Or to put it another way …don't go woke and go broke. Instead, find your spine and hold the line.”\n \n kawunnee Twitter pwafork Twitter pwafork Standing up to the mob is the only way to have success, thus the phrase: Get woke, Go broke. Twitter pwafork Yeah, good on 'em! Hope it puts to shame Coon cheese that couldn't stomach doing the same to keep its heritage in tact, and any other business thinking of doing the same.
