ANALYSIS: We are back in the nether world, and it feels like the crisis is slipping away

What has given the Prime Minister and other political leaders not just superficial popularity but, much more importantly, credibility and authority through this crisis has been appearing to act decisively.

It almost worked. We are spending a lot of time in the public space on who or what is to blame for it not working. But these things are almost irrelevant, except for what they teach us for next time. Remember when, in the early alarming stages of high rates of infection, the wish was to just be able to "flatten the curve" to give our hospital systems the space to deal with the virus, and policy makers the ability to think ahead, not just deal with the mess around them?

Well, it feels like we are back there, dealing with the day to day, finding it difficult to see ahead, no matter how much the attention is just focused on one state.

as the MSM like spread fear of being within 6 feet of another human being, how fucked up is that?

Hmmm do the liberals crying Open Up then trying to Blame ‘Dictator Dan’ and the Federal government entering lawsuits to ‘Open Borders ‘ have anything to do with it?

'Governments seem a bit stuck in mourning for the fact things haven't gone to plan'. Ain't that the truth

Well of course we are. Complete lack of leadership by the PM. And thank god for the federation...if Smirko had been in charge we would be looking like the US now.

Hindsight... Should've locked down hard like New Zealand.

Almost 20,000 refugees could lose their jobs in Australia. This mother-of-two is one of themA new academic report commissioned by the Refugee Council of Australia suggests thousands of refugees and asylum seekers will lose their job as a result of the coronavirus economic downturn, with many at risk of homelessness. I think we should help parents who are struggling to survive. I do not have kids and I am not bitter. I chose not to start a family. But if someone is battling with kids, I feel sorry for them sometimes. We need to support all of these people. We are happy to have them work in jobs many Australians don't want and also use them to inflate our economy and population. Let's make sure every family is supported. I don't get it..backpackers don't lose their job but the refugees..hmmm ..interesting
